Overview of Position:
As a pivotal member of the Visit Savannah team, this coordinator takes the reins in driving initiatives for our sports tourism endeavors as well as giving critical support to the paid media team for various advertising needs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Advertising Management (Sports Focus)
- In partnership with the VP of Strategic Marketing and the Sports Sales Director, develop the advertising plan for contracted major sports events, including but not limited to collegiate competitions, footraces, and more.
- Manage the sports media buying schedule including contracts, payments, trafficking, for various paid channels including but not limited to digital, outdoor, and radio.
- Negotiate rates, positioning and added value for all sports print media packages.
Spearhead the development and implementation of a dynamic paid and organic social media strategy for each event.
Other Advertising Duties
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance, such as impressions, CTR, conversions, and ROAS. Make data-driven recommendations for future optimization.
- Support Marketing Manager in managing the overall paid media budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and maximizing ROI. Track and report on budget spend and adjust as necessary.
- Coordinate with external media vendors and agencies, including negotiating contracts, managing invoices, and maintaining strong vendor relationships.
- Oversee the development and delivery of creative assets, ensuring they meet brand guidelines and campaign objectives. Collaborate with internal and external creative teams.
Additional Sports Duties
- Lead the planning and execution of quarterly sports email campaigns.
- Serve as the central hub for all sports creative projects, coordinating submissions and updates via Basecamp to streamline workflow.
- Collaborate with the Sports Sales Director to produce compelling marketing materials.
- Act as a liaison between sponsors and the marketing team, ensuring all marketing deliverables are met and exceeded.
- Provide on-site social media coverage during events as needed.
Education and Experience/Key Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Marketing or Advertising.
- Minimum of 1 year (2+ preferred) experience in marketing, including paid media.
- Exceptional communication skills, with a knack for creativity, innovation, and relationship-building.
- A passion for the sports event industry a plus.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with strong multitasking abilities and adaptability to changing priorities.
- Positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with team members.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Work Environment:
Office: 95%, Travel: 5%
In-Office: 80%, Remote: 20% (Remote work permitted once a week)
Flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings and weekends during event periods.
Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
