Savannah is well-known as the setting of both the novel and film versions of John Behrendt’s Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and Winston Groom’s Forrest Gump, but this Southern city has played host to countless film and television productions. Thanks in part to film producer Stratton Leopold, also the third generation to run the downtown landmark Leopold’s Ice Cream, the Savannah area has become a stand-in for locales across the South.
