AmiciMusic

AmiciMusic, meaning “music among friends,” is a new chamber music organization in Savannah, GA. It was founded in Asheville, NC, in 2011 and still performs monthly chamber music concerts in both Asheville, NC and Baltimore, MD, as well as Savannah. AmiciMusic produces high-quality, thematic, intimate, and educational chamber music concerts using some of the top musicians in the country and beyond. Founded and still run by pianist Daniel Weiser, AmiciMusic uses a constantly changing group of musicians, including string players, woodwinds, and singers, for a wide variety of concerts that push the envelope of "classical" music. Besides straight classical programs, they also do concerts that include Jazz, Tango, Klezmer, and other genres. For all of their concerts, they seek to break down barriers between performers and audience through brief discussions of each composer on their programs and by promoting a relaxed and informal atmosphere at concerts in order to encourage new concert-goers to enjoy the energy of the performances and the spirit of community and camaraderie.
