Jonathan M. Bryant Launches New Novel at Ships of the Sea

Ships of the Sea is pleased to welcome award-winning author and historian Jonathan M. Bryant to the Tales of the Sea lecture series on October 1, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM, with the lecture beginning at 5:45 PM.

Bryant will discuss his newest historical novel, The Slaver's Apprentice, set in 1819 aboard the slave ship Liberty. The novel follows a fifteen-year-old boy caught in a world of violence, corruption, and the brutal realities of the Atlantic slave trade before ultimately facing trial in Savannah.

Following the presentation, Bryant will be available to sign copies of the book, which will be available for purchase at the event.
