Eastern Wharf will host a special July 4 celebration featuring a free community concert by Savannah's favorite big band, the Fabulous Equinox Orchestra, on July 4 from 6 to 10 p.m. at The Park at Eastern Wharf, the largest public green space on the Savannah River.
The annual event, which began in 2023, has become one of Savannah's beloved Independence Day celebrations.
Parade & Pre-Show Activities
The festivities begin at 6 p.m. with a "Summer of Soul" theme featuring curated house music by Savannah Stopover, followed by a New Orleans-style second-line parade winding through the park.
The parade will feature a brass band procession with the Fabulous Equinox Orchestra and special guests. Attendees are encouraged to bring parasols, handkerchiefs and festive July 4 attire. Mardi Gras-style beads, doubloons and other items will be available while supplies last.
Concert
The full Fabulous Equinox Orchestra takes the stage at 7:30 p.m.
Known for high-energy performances, the group blends original arrangements with songs from the Great American Songbook, Motown, country, folk and rock traditions. Inspired by legendary entertainers Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr., bandleaders Jeremy Davis and Clay Johnson bring Southern charm and showmanship to every performance.

Following the concert, Savannah's Waterfront Independence Day fireworks show will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m.
The Savannah Riverwalk at Eastern Wharf offers prime views of the display.
