Legacy & Labor: Labor Day Weekend at Bonaventure
Presented by Bonaventure Cemetery Tours®
This Labor Day weekend, honor the hands, minds, and visionaries who built Savannah into a jewel of the South. Beneath a sweeping canopy of ancient live oaks and draped Spanish moss, walk through Bonaventure Cemetery to discover the fascinating stories of the builders, industrialists, artists, and working-class figures resting in this historic "City of the Dead." It is an inspiring, reflective, and memorable way to spend your holiday weekend among hallowed grounds.
Duration: Approximately 2 Hours
Meeting Point
We will gather inside the Historic Jewish Entrance Gateway.
Address: 330 Bonaventure Road, Savannah, GA 31404
Parking: On-site parking is available near the front of the cemetery.
Planning Your Visit
To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all guests over the holiday weekend:
Early Arrival: We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to find parking and check in with your guide.
Beat the Heat: Morning slots (8 AM and 10 AM) offer cooler temperatures, while the 2 PM stroll captures beautiful afternoon light beneath the shaded canopy.
Footwear: Please wear comfortable walking shoes suitable for natural, historic pathways.
Essentials: Bring a cold bottle of water, sunscreen, and your camera to capture the stunning monuments and river views.
