Reviving Crochet Traditions with Samantha Mack

Historic Savannah Foundation and the Davenport House Museum are thrilled to continue the popular Artisan Spotlight Series at the Historic Kennedy Pharmacy, located at 323 E. Broughton St. The Artisan Spotlight Series, which originally launched in Spring 2024, offers engaging, hands-on events and provides a dynamic platform for artists and artisans to share their creative processes with local residents and visitors.

The February event will feature Local fiber artist Samantha Mack. She will host a beginner's crochet circle, sharing a brief history of the popular 19th-century craft and demonstrating basic stitches. Participants can try their hand at creating a classic "granny square," which is a versatile pattern used for blankets, pillows and clothing. Suitable for newcomers as well as experienced crocheters looking for guidance on a current project, this hands-on workshop is a wonderful opportunity to connect, create and learn in an inspiring, supportive environment. The cost of this workshop includes crochet materials.
