Fresh Perspectives: Shiitake Mushroom Cultivation

Join the Forsyth Farmers' Market for a workshop featuring local mushroom farmer Ancil Jacques!

Forsyth Farmers' Market - a leading nonprofit organization based in Savannah, Ga. that is dedicated to supporting local farmers while expanding community access to fresh, affordable food - will continue its new biweekly Fresh Perspectives Series, offering Saturday workshops at the Forsyth Farmers' Market in Forsyth Park at 13 E. Park Ave. between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.

The second interactive workshop will be focused on shiitake mushroom cultivation. Swampy Appleseed Mushrooms owner Ancil Jacques, a mushroom farmer based in Reidsville, Ga., will teach attendees how to grow shiitake mushrooms on a regenerative sweet gum log.
