Learn the fundamentals of Georgia saltwater fishing in this hands-on program at the UGA Aquarium! Discover how to rig a rod, choose the right hooks and rigs, and practice casting techniques, all without needing to hit the water.

The program includes a presentation on Georgia coastal fishing, covering tips on where and what to fish, fish handling, fishing regulations, and best practices for supporting conservation and healthy coastal ecosystems.

After the presentation, educators will demonstrate how to make your own fishing rig to take home, followed by a casting practice session on shore. Gain the knowledge and confidence to get started in saltwater fishing!

Registration is required and includes admission to the UGA Aquarium. This program is designed for children ages 15 and up. All children under 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult.
