Join the Georgia Historical Society for an evening with Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Rick Atkinson at Congregation Mickve Israel in Savannah. This free program is the keynote presentation of the 2025-2026 Georgia History Festival and is part of the Georgia Historical Society's US250 commemoration.
Rick Atkinson will be joined by Dr. Stan Deaton, GHS's Senior Historian, for a lively discussion of Atkinson's new book, The Fate of the Day: The War for America, Fort Ticonderoga to Charleston, 1777-1780. They will explore the pivotal middle years of the American Revolution, including the 1779 Siege of Savannah, when American and French forces fought on the knife-edge between victory and defeat.
