Lee Fields, sometimes nicknamed "Little JB" for his physical and vocal resemblance to James Brown, has recorded with acts like Kool and the Gang, Darrell Banks, and Little Royal, and worked with musicians such as B. B. King, Clarence Carter, Dr. John, Denise LaSalle, and Bobby Womack, among many others. Originally from Wilson, North Carolina, Lee has been recording since 1969, spanning soul, funk, and R&B. His more recent work with The Expressions includes the albums Faithful Man and Special Night. Fields' music can be found in all aspects of popular culture, including movie soundtracks, popular TV shows, video games, and samples by artists from J. Cole to Slum Village.
