Our largest annual event is the Independence Day Celebration attracting over 40,000 people. Celebrating the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, the fireworks show is not only entertaining but also a vibrant symbol of our freedom here in the United States. This event is free and open to all.
Plant Riverside District, The Park at Eastern Wharf and Rousakis Riverfront Plaza will feature live music outdoors prior to the fireworks show beginning at 9:30pm. The Third Infantry Division Brass Band & Rock Band will perform on Rousakis Riverfront Plaza from 7:30 - 9:30pm. Several waterfront restaurants will be providing food and drink specials. Check back here for more details.
The fireworks show will be launched from a barge in the Savannah River, with the Savannah Convention Center serving as the backdrop. Scheduled to begin around 9:30pm, the show is choreographed to a patriotic musical soundtrack played from various locations throughout the viewing area. The approximately 20-minute show is visible from Rousakis Riverfront Plaza, Plant Riverside District, Eastern Wharf, downtown rooftop bars, and will be streamed on WTOC+ (Roku, Firestick, Apple TV, etc.), WTOC.com, and the WTOC app.
