A Hauntingly Useful Savannah Itinerary

ghost-city-tours-savannah.jpg

Well, hello there. We've heard that there's been some back and forth about your beliefs. Your arrival in "America's Most Haunted City" means that you're at least curious and ready to see whether Savannah's reputation truly precedes itself. It almost feels like the perfect moment for thunder, lightning or the shadowy silhouette of Hitchcock to appear, but that's not our style. Instead, we'll offer you an itinerary - no, let's call it a guide - to the ethereal world you've stepped into.

Where should we start—hotels, tours, restaurants, museums? We've got it all, so let's kick things off right. Don’t worry, we’ll get you back home in one piece.

01

👀 Stay the Night... If You Dare

It’s time to check in, get cozy and brace yourself. Did you know your accommodations have as much history as the city itself?

Day 1

Places to Stay

17 Hundred 90 Inn & Restaurant

This historic beauty pulls double duty. Here, you'll enjoy classic accommodations, upscale dining, and—if you’re lucky—a visit from a special guest. Anne, a former guest who never quite checked out, is said to linger here. While your goal is to sleep peacefully, Anne never does. The sounds and shadows you notice in the night? Her way of saying, “I’m still here, y'all.”

Marshall House

You can’t miss this Italianate-style gem on Broughton Street. Built in 1851, it’s tied to the Yellow Fever epidemic and the Civil War, when soldiers and patients took their final breaths within its walls. Guests have reported hallway spirits, phantom footsteps, and even the echoes of soldiers who never made it home.

Kehoe House

What’s now an elegant 13-room bed and breakfast was once the 1890s home of William and Annie Kehoe and their ten children—two of whom reportedly passed away here. Guests have shared sightings of youthful spirits, and before its B&B rebirth, the property even served as a funeral home. It seems some guests prefer to overstay their welcome.

Hamilton-Turner Inn

This Victorian mansion, known for its role in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, is home to more than refined décor. A cigar-smoking ghost is said to haunt the rooftop, and billiard balls occasionally roll down the stairs on their own—playful reminders from the mansion’s younger spirits above.

Olde Harbour Inn

This boutique River Street inn blends modern elegance with centuries-old stories. Locals speak of Hank, a former warehouse worker who perished in the 1892 fire. Fortunately, he's known as more of a prankster than a poltergeist, proof that even in the afterlife, Savannah's sense of humor endures.

Dining (Dinner + Drinks)

The Olde Pink House

Great Southern food with a side of apparition. This 1770s mansion, always blushing pink, is said to host its former owner, James Habersham Jr., who never agreed to open his home to guests. He's been making himself seen and heard ever since.

The Pirates’ House

Rumored to be heavily influenced by Treasure Island, this once 1750s sailors’ inn welcomed, and occasionally trapped mariners of every sort. Tales tell of barroom brawls, secret tunnels, and sailors who never made it out alive. Being dragged through underground tunnels by pirates was their demise. Some say their spirits still roam the halls, ensuring guests and staff alike get a fright - but the food is great!

Day 2

Morning / Afternoon

Bonaventure Cemetery

Eeriely beautiful and disturbingly quiet. Bonvaenture is a must-see, resting place that visitors can't get enough of. The stories that float throughout this gravesite can be heard through the rustling of leaves, and the echoes of little Gracie. Its elaborate tombstones and breathtaking monuments have almost become a place of respite, rather than death.

Savannah Pirates & Treasure Museum

Savannah's maritime lore isn't rumored fodder. This museum is where legend and mischief seamlessly collide, with exhibits, artifacts, and a candidly displayed history of piracy. Don't forget to stop by The Pirates Tavern at the end of your tour for a curated drink, fitting of the time.

The Savannah Paranormal Museum

You know how they say that spirits can attach themselves to various artifacts. Well, the paranormal is frighteningly loud at this hands-on museum. Anytime a doll's head is spotted, you can bet it's haunted. One wink or head spin is enough for us.

Graveface Museum

Brace yourself for macabre oddities and disturbing and vintage intrigue. This is where true crime shines with uncomfortable accuracy. Think secret societies, cults and personal artifacts of the "serial" kind if you catch our drift.

Ordinary Magic

Mystical curiosity and energy-charging charms are beautifully displayed in this metaphysical shop. These experts know just what you need to face otherworldly adversaries or to survive the workweek.

Sorrel-Weed House

One of the most talked about, filmed, and bucket-list landmarks in Savannah. There's not a ghost hunter worth their salt who doesn't know about this 1830s Greek Revival mansion. Affairs, tragedy, death, and enslavement all make up a melting pot of highly charged paranormal.

Evening

Six Pence Pub

It seems that spirits don't mind crossing the pond. This popular, cozy Irish haunt is a culturally appealing watering hole that locals frequent and visitors adore. The souls of Civil War soldiers carry on the best conversations at the bar about politics and economics.

Churchill’s Restaurant and Pub

Someone's always hanging around at this English pub. While patrons try to enjoy their fish and chips, the silhouette of a man who hung himself from the beams has been spotted here. It's the ideal stop for pub crawls, as beer taps are said to turn themselves on.
