Savannah is a Flavor That Lingers

Welcome to Savannah, where you'll find heavenly dishes crafted by top-notch chefs using locally sourced ingredients. Indulge in the lap of luxury at Saint Bibiana, a gorgeously restored mansion from the 1800s. Their authentic Italian cuisine and impeccable wine selection will have your taste buds singing. In need of some soulful comfort food? Look no further than Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room, where their Southern fare, especially the fried chicken, is always a crowd-pleaser. And let's not forget about our rooftop bars, basement speakeasies, and European-inspired pubs. Savannah's got it all, including unforgettable craft spirits (and maybe even a few ghostly ones, ?).

Savannah Dining FAQs

It depends on where you want to dine. Some of Savannah’s more upscale restaurants like Vic’s on the River and The Olde Pink House, require reservations made a month or more in advance. At more casual eateries and cafes, walk-ins are typically welcomed.

Savannah is pretty relaxed when it comes to dress code — it’s a coastal city after all. For fine dining, it’s generally recommended to avoid wearing flip-flops or athletic clothing, but smart-casual dress is perfectly acceptable. Better yet, treat yourself to an outfit from one of the local boutiques and you’ll fit right in.

Yes! Thanks to Savannah’s open container law, you can take your cocktail on-the-go throughout the Historic District. Waltz from River Street to Jones Street with an open, plastic to-go cup in hand (as long as it’s 16 ounces or fewer). Check out other facts about Savannah that might surprise you.

Savannah is a culinary hotspot of beloved Southern classics and home to innovative chefs constantly whipping up new delicious bites. Trying fried chicken is practically required, so check out some of Savannah's best fried-chicken spots. Seek out brunch classics like shrimp and grits and sweet treats like the world-famous pecan praline from River Street Sweets. And, of course, taste the iconic Lowcountry boil — a communal feast of seasoned, boiled shrimp, potatoes, corn and sausage — best enjoyed with a creekside view from The Crab Shack patio on nearby Tybee Island.
